Supporting Local

We're pretty proud to be part of the Downtown Davenport landscape, and what better way to show our love than teaming up with fellow local businesses to support each other! Together with our pals from Oh So Sweet by Tiphanie, The Full Kit and Endless Brews, we recently sponsored a Friday Live at 5 concert at River Music Experience.

This group of businesses located along Main Street, with a few other neighbors, have begun using the affectionate term #MainStreetMafia when we team up. This support and camaraderie is so important to us as business owners!

The co-sponsorship made me reflect on some other collaborations we've facilitated over the past few years. On the food and drink side, it runs the gamut, from creating cocktails and hosting tastings with Mississippi River Distilling Company products, serving beer from some of the many local breweries, partnering with The Crepe Guy periodically, sourcing homemade bread from Barley & Rye and serving locally-made Boetje's Mustard. We've also partnered with some small businesses outside of our industry, from teaming up with Flowers by Jerri to host a fall floral design class to hosting an annual trunk show for local milliner Studio 910 before the Kentucky Derby events.

There are several local groups that I participate in that provide support for fellow entrepreneurs. The Rising Tide Society has a monthly meeting, Tuesdays Together, for those in creative industries to promote an atmosphere of community over competition. A favorite of mine is #QCGirlboss, comprised of a select few female business owners. It's limited to make sure we don't get overloaded with any one industry so we can discuss general topics that we all face: employee retention, marketing efforts, philanthropy, and everything in-between.

Looking back at all of these events and activities makes me really proud of all the connections we have made in our community and excited to plan many more collaborations in the future!
